Frequently Asked Questions​
1. Do I need previous yoga experience to join the training? No prior teaching experience is necessary! This 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed for all levels—whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or ready to deepen your practice and start teaching. A consistent personal yoga practice is recommended to fully benefit from the training.
2. Is this training Yoga Alliance certified? Yes! Upon successful completion of the course—including attendance, assignments, and passing the final exam—you will receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification through Jesse Barlow Yoga, which is recognized globally and qualifies you to teach at most studios.
3. What styles of yoga will be taught? Our curriculum covers a blend of Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Meditation, Pranayama, and Thai massage techniques. This diverse approach ensures a well-rounded understanding of yoga, from physical alignment to philosophical roots.
4. Can I get a refund if I need to cancel? All bookings are final and non-refundable. Please make sure you are fully committed before securing your spot. We recommend reviewing all details carefully to ensure this training is the right fit for you.
5. What is the daily schedule like? As the training approaches, we’ll provide you with a detailed daily schedule in advance. Generally, you can expect early morning practices starting around 6 AM lasting about two hours, followed by a nourishing breakfast. The days will include morning philosophy sessions and afternoon classes focused on alignment and anatomy, complemented by meditation, hands-on teaching practice, and plenty of free time for rest and exploration. Our schedule is thoughtfully designed to be full yet balanced—supporting deep learning while allowing you to enjoy the serene retreat setting.
6. Will I receive support after the training? Absolutely! You’ll maintain access to the online DEDICA FUNDEAMENTALS series for life, plus the year-long subscription to DEDICA ON DEAMAND to support your continued growth. We also offer community resources and alumni support with both Deanna and Jesse as well as your fellow graduates!
7. What accommodation options are available? You will stay at Kan Tulum, featuring shared and private rooms. Rooms are thoughtfully designed with comfort and tranquility in mind. Please let us know your preference when booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
8. Is transportation to and from the hotel included? Transportation is not included but can be arranged for an additional fee. We recommend flying into Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto Airport (TQO) or Cancun International Airport (CUN), which is approximately a 2-hour drive to Tulum. We’re happy to assist with local transport options.
9. What should I bring to the training? Bring comfortable yoga clothing, a yoga mat (though mats are also available on-site we do encourage you to bring your own), journal/notebook, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal items you need. We’ll provide a detailed packing list upon registration.

10. Is there a deposit structure available? Yes. Once you're accepted into the YTT program, you’ll receive an email with booking instructions, including a code to apply your $500 application deposit. You’ll also be given the option to pay using a 50% deposit structure due by Dec 31, 2025 and the remaining 50% due by March 1, 2026.

11. I would like to share a 1BD room with a fellow yogi that I don't know... is this possible? Though we encourage two-person occupancy for those who already have an existing relationship, sharing with someone new is possible. While we can’t guarantee a match, we’ll do our best to pair you with another participant who is also open to sharing a room.
